2023–2024 CBC Teacher Training

2023–2024 CBC Teacher Training. To stress the significance of teacher development, Mr. Njuguna proposed allocating KSh 1.3 billion for the training of teachers in the Competency-Based Curriculum (CBC).

The CBC seeks to give teachers the skills and knowledge necessary to deliver high-quality instruction that satisfies the requirements of the workforce of the twenty-first century.

This financial commitment highlights the government’s commitment to upgrading the educational system and equipping students with relevant skills for the future workforce.

One of the main barriers to implementing the CBC curriculum is the need to train instructors and align existing competencies with the new framework.

The government has established a thorough system to ensure that teachers are properly prepared to handle the demands and standards of the Competency-Based Curriculum. The CBC training program is one part of this effort.

Dr. Macharia reassured the populace that CBC teacher preparation will not be a one-time event but rather ongoing and sustained.

Because it recognizes that teachers are crucial to the successful implementation of CBC, the TSC places a high value on ongoing Teacher Professional Development (TPD).

Even aspiring teachers will get training on the new curriculum’s standards before they finish their undergrad degrees.

The goal of the government is to give teachers the skills, mindsets, and cutting-edge pedagogical techniques they require to embrace and implement new curricula and assessment standards.

The TSC will assist in the development of highly competent, considerate, and professional teachers by utilizing cutting-edge pedagogical strategies such as coaching, facilitating, and mentoring.

By serving as strong role models for their pupils, these tools will help instructors inspire them to realize their full potential.

A significant step in improving Kenya’s educational system is the allocation of considerable cash for a range of educational activities.

Surprisingly, KSh 940 million for student sanitary towels, KSh 1.1 billion for teacher support and development, and KSh 4.9 billion to enhance the school food program are included in the budget for the fiscal year.
