TSC Disallows The Next 26 Teaching Courses in Full
The Teachers Service Commission (TSC) has just banned 26 Bachelor of Science and Arts Degree Teaching Courses.
Teachers who passed these courses and were getting ready to apply for TSC registration now have to find work somewhere else.
Candidates for registration whose training is in disciplines that are currently NOT in the curriculum are not eligible, regardless of whether they have finished a Post Graduate Diploma in Education (PGDE) and/or Enhancement. The prerequisites for the registration of new instructors are listed.
“Those who earned a PGDE with these courses are NOT eligible to register as teachers. Two instructional subjects lack the necessary level of content mastery since these courses don’t cover the necessary amount of material. More specific instructions are provided.
The commission emphasizes that, in addition to a Bachelor’s in Science or the Arts, two teaching specializations and a Postgraduate Diploma in Education (PGDE) are sufficient for registration.
According to the TSC, these curricula don’t cover enough content, which results in poor topic understanding in the two teaching areas.
Only programs leading to a Bachelor of Arts or Bachelor of Science with a PGDE in two teaching specializations will be accepted by TSC for registration.
