14,738 teacher promotion letters have been issued by TSC.
Positions have been filled for Senior Masters, Senior Teachers, Head Teachers, Deputy Head Teachers, and Principals.
The Teachers Service Commission (TSC) has submitted more than 1,900 letters of promotion to county school directors. A few counties have already begun distributing letters of employment to teachers who have received promotions.
Since the interviews were over, there have been delays in sending the letters. The newly allocated instructors can report to their new site and begin working next term since they have already received their letters.
TSC first released a December 2022 advertisement for 14,738 teacher promotions before taking it down. It then sent out fresh invitations to apply in January, March, and May of this year after failing to receive the required number of responses.
The Commission has not yet sent letters to instructors who filed applications to become senior teachers. Some teachers have been serving as senior teachers while they wait for confirmation.
The majority of teachers who participated in promotion interviews in March and were hired for the positions for which they applied have not yet been posted, according to the TSC database, which is also accessible in the offices of county and sub county directors.
A senior TSC official asserts that Treasury is disbursing funds gradually and attributes the delays on a paucity of funding. He claimed that the Commission would continue rising and placing professors as long as it had money.
The CEO of the TSC, Nancy Macharia, has criticized teachers for not earning promotions and for their own complacency. She asserted that instructors were hesitant to apply for promotions in other states.
Listed below are 1300 teachers who will not be receiving letters of promotion.
While conducting teacher promotions, the challenge of “promotion-based localization,” in which teacher promotions are now contingent upon the number of openings in a specific county, was brought to the commission’s attention.
The TSC head said that the commission had advertised 14,738 vacancies for teachers to be promoted to various grades in order to fill openings caused by attrition naturally. There were only 11,231 instructors hired, but there were 3,507 unfilled positions for which there were no candidates.
Positive action 1,021 vacant positions for skilled educators may receive applications. The TSC announced job postings for the positions of chief principal, principal, assistant principal, senior master, headteacher, and senior teacher for both regular and special schools.
