This year, about 41,000 teachers will receive promotions.

According to President William Ruto, 41,000 teachers will receive promotions as a reward for their dedication and performance in the classroom.

The president stated that the Teachers Service Commission will promote 5,000 teachers directly and 36,000 indirectly during his speech on Wednesday at the Kenya Music Festival Winner’s State.

These educators should receive new compensation and perks.

He added, “We have worked with the TSC to ensure that instructors who perform well would be promoted so that we can incentivize our teachers to bring out their best.

“This year, 5,000 teachers will be promoted directly, and 36,000 teachers will be promoted indirectly,” the statement reads.

According to the president, TSC has been given Sh1 billion by the government to enable this promotion.

“We have provided a billion shillings that will go in that direction,” he declared.

The president also suggested that Ezekiel Machogu, the cabinet secretary for education, encourage the instructors who worked with the children that competed in the Kenya Music Festival Winner’s State.

Teachers who have trained these students, written the scripts, and performed exceptional work should be included in the group of people being promoted in this cycle.

The President declared, “I think they deserve that promotion because they have excelled and gone above and beyond their call of duty.”

At the same time, Ruto has urged the TSC, teachers’ unions, and other interested parties to speed up talks and find a resolution.

The Salaries and Remuneration Commission (SRC) recently announced a salary increase for civil officials that will take effect in two years and range from seven to ten percent.

The idea, according to KUPPET Secretary General Akello Misori, would be rejected.

He stated that a base wage increase of 70%, promotions, medical benefits, and a pension plan will be the key topics of discussion.

We will concentrate on the points where the negotiations for the CBA broke down. Since we had already begun discussing salaries, we won’t budge to fresh ideas, Misori stated.

The Kenya National Union of Teachers (KNUT), Kenya Union of Post-Primary Education Teachers (KUPPET), Kenya Union of Special Needs Education Teachers (KUSNET), and TSC all signed the agreement.

Before raising the pay of state officers, Misori insisted that the salaries of teachers be examined.
