Timetable for the KNEC 2023 KCSE Qualifying Test Exam

The official timetable and instructions for the 2023 Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE) Qualifying Test Examination have just been released by the Kenya National Examinations Council (KNEC).

It is essential for all applicants to arrive on time since the test is scheduled to start promptly at 8:30 a.m. There is no option for extra time; each exam paper has a predetermined time limit. It’s important to stick to the time limit listed on the question paper, which also includes the allotted reading time.

While applicants are asked to confirm that they have all required materials, supervisory staff will monitor candidates’ compliance with appropriately filling out their examination papers.

The test is slated to take place on Monday, October 30, 2023, according to the following schedule:

Daytime Session:

• Assignment: QT904 Math & Science
• Time: 8:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m., 2 hours.

Break:

• Time: 10:30 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. for 30 minutes.

noon session:

English QT903/1 paper

• Time: From 11:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m.

Dinner Break:

• Time: 1 hour (from 1:00 to 2:00)

Lunchtime Session:

• Paper 1: Kiswahili, QT903/2
• Paper 2: Kenyan Sign Language, QT903/3
• Each session lasts for two hours, from 2:00 to 4:00.

Sub-County Examination Officers are in charge of ensuring that applicants properly follow the issued instructions in order to prevent any irregularities or misconduct and to uphold the integrity of the examination process.

Candidate Instructions:

• Aim to arrive 15 minutes early.
• Verify the question paper matches your registration.
• Concentrate closely on the general guidelines.
• On the answer booklet, make sure to legibly put your name and index number.
• Write in black or blue ink; pencils are OK for diagrams.
• Be sure to specifically state the question numbers.
• Read each question in its entirety.
• Submit your response booklet in the manner specified.

The following is advised against by candidates:

• Permission from the supervisor is required before leaving the exam room early.
• It is definitely forbidden to hide written content from public view.
• Speaking to other applicants or people outside the exam room is not permitted.
• It is completely forbidden to possess any illegal items or technological equipment, including cell phones.

Candidates are reminded that violations of the KNEC Act No. 29 of 2012 can result in penalties for irregularities in examinations. These fines could also come with legal repercussions and consequent cancellations. Maintaining integrity is necessary to prevent any kind of misbehavior.
