Application deadline for teachers is this Friday.

The deadline for applications to fill the 36,000 openings for teacher promotions has been extended by the Teachers’ Service Commission (TSC) to September 15, 2023.

Concerns about instructors’ career advancement will be addressed in a TSC circular by advancements throughout nine distinct grade levels.

These advancements will be dispersed across primary and secondary schools, as well as teacher-training institutes, as a result of the successful salary negotiations for teachers that led to this decision.

The number of openings for promotions includes 12,716 for the position of senior master, 10,819 for senior teacher roles in traditional primary schools, 700 for senior teacher roles in facilities for students with special needs, and 216 for Grade C4 senior lecturer positions in teacher-training colleges.

108 senior principle vacancies and 34 chief principal roles have also been advertised by the TSC.

By September 15th, applicants must submit their applications via the TSC portal.

The TSC recently promoted 14,000 teachers who had been waiting for promotions since the previous fiscal year, according to this release.

Ksh 1 billion has been set out by the National Treasury for these 36,275 promotions.
