Education PS Kipsang Announces Changes in the Sector
Belio Kipsang, the PS for Education, has announced upcoming changes to the educational system, particularly in the evaluation of pupils after the KCSE and at various educational levels.
The PS wants to move away from the traditional method of assessing pupils purely on their academic performance and towards a more all-encompassing strategy that takes into account their aptitudes and interests.
This innovative method seeks to give kids the chance to identify and develop their own talents, aspirations, and interests. The revamped grading scheme would closely follow the Competency-Based Curriculum (CBC) in schooling, Kipsang has informed parents.

This system will encourage students to enrol in a wide variety of courses, making it easier for teachers to recognise and support each student’s unique strengths and interests.
This implies that great athletes, whether they participate in football or volleyball, will have the opportunity to be acknowledged in the educational setting. Students that are musically talented will also be identified and given encouragement to pursue their artistic endeavours.
President William Ruto’s unflinching support for the CBC Education system is underlined by the government’s most recent educational strategy. Kenya has made great strides and tremendous progress in the field of education as a result of the President’s introduction of important modifications to the CBC.
