TSC SENDS REGRET LETTERS TO 1500 TEACHERS WHO APPLIED FOR PROMOTIONS
TSC promotion update for November. Over 1,500 school administrators who filed for promotions and were awaiting their promotion letters received letters of regret from TSC.
They received regret letters rather than the anticipated promotion letters.
1,300 of the instructors who received letters of regret, according to the Teaching Service Commission (TSC), will have another chance to apply for the positions.

They were verified and shortlisted after interviews in their respective counties, thus it is yet unknown why the commission canceled their positions.
Many teachers were dismayed by this decision, especially those who were acting as teachers and had hoped to be confirmed.
These educators are required to reapply for positions once a fresh promotion advertisement is published, according to the committee.

Additionally, it is unclear whether TSC would continue to handle teacher promotions given that the Ministry of Education was urged by the education taskforce to take on this duty.
TSC figures show that there are now 3,359 public schools without head teachers, including 1,918 public primary schools and 1,441 public secondary schools.
Along with ongoing, crucial reforms in the education sector, there is a leadership shortage.
TSC has criticized educators, holding them accountable for their own stagnant careers and failure to receive advancements.

TSC posted 14,738 job openings for teacher promotions in various grade levels earlier this year. While 1,231 teachers were hired, 3,507 slots went unfilled for lack of competent candidates.
Affirmative action teachers were given preference for some of the open positions.

Amidst a lack of school leadership posts in the education sector, TSC’s recent distribution of regret letters to teachers who filed for promotions has generated concerns regarding the selection procedure and the body responsible for teacher promotions.
