The start time for the Grade 9 Kenya Junior School Education Assessment (KJSEA) has been announced by the Kenya National Examinations Council (KNEC).

In January 2025, the present Grade 8 students will move up to Grade 9, where they will take their last Junior Secondary School (JSS) exam in October.

Knec claims that on October 27, 2025, the KJSEA would begin concurrently with the Kenya Primary School Education Assessment (KPSEA).

The eleven examinable papers in the KJSEA will expire on November 6, 2025. In July of this year, Knec conducted a KJSEA pilot study with current Grade 8 students in 235 schools.

The piloting of the KJSEA exams was done from 15/7/2024 to 19/7/2024.
