CS Kuria Targets Govt Land After Special Request From Meru Bishops

CS Kuria Targets Govt Land After Special Request From Meru Bishops.

On Saturday, June 24, Trade Cabinet Secretary Moses Kuria pledged to get land from Meru Governor Kawira Mwangaza to help the county’s enterprises.

The CS said in a statement that he made the choice in response to a request from the leaders of the African Independent Pentecostal Church of Africa (AIPCA).

According to him, the land will be used to create a Special Economic Zone in the area.

The Meruan church leaders visited the Cabinet Secretary at his private residence under the direction of their Archbishop Samson Muthuri.

“I will be requesting more land from Meru Governor Kawira Mwangaza so that the Bishops’ request for another Special Economic Zone in the area can be fulfilled.

At my own home, I had the honor of receiving blessings from the Meru AIPCA Bishops under the leadership of Archbishop Muthuri, he said.

Kuria went on to say that the Kenya Kwanza Government was a result of the church and that the leaders would keep working with the church to find ways to make Kenyans’ lives better.

“The Bishops challenged me to keep bringing our people together, especially our leadership, so they can fulfill every promise we made to Kenyans.

“The Kenya Kwanza Government is a product of the church, and we shall at all times keep consulting with the church on how best to uplift the lives of Kenyans,” continued Kuria.

By offering tax advantages, top-notch administrative services, and a comfortable living environment, the Special Economic Zones initiative seeks to build technology centres that are geared toward projects with zero carbon emissions in order to promote entrepreneurship and spur investments in the nation.

President William Ruto decided to build five smart cities in Dongo Kundu, Lamu, Naivasha, Athi River, and Sagana after seeing the Incheon Free Economic Zone in Seoul, South Korea.

The government urged Kenyans to take advantage of the investment opportunities in the SEZ located all over the nation in January 2023.

The government will also provide incentives to investors eager to build businesses in Naivasha’s Special Economic Zones, according to the Special Economic Zones Authority (SEZA).

“The Kenyan government has established public SEZS, which encompass 3.000 acres in Dongo Kundu and 1.000 acres in Naivasha and allow investors to lease space for an extended period of time. Through its economic and commercial cooperation, Kenya will offer a stable economy and greater market access, according to a statement from the authority.
