Eregi Girls High School Is Closed Due to an Unknown Disease Outbreak
Due to the growing unhappiness among pupils, which has been brought on by an unexplained outbreak, the administration of the school in Ikolomani has made the difficult choice to temporarily close the school. At least 80 pupils have been admitted to hospitals as a result of this worrying scenario, necessitating fast action.
The County Government of Kakamega said in an official declaration that only Form Four children would continue to attend courses throughout this difficult time. These senior students’ crucial education will not be interrupted by this selective continuation of lessons, which will also give them the support and care they require.
In contrast, Forms 1, 2, and 3 pupils will receive a one-week holiday from their academic obligations. This brief break is meant to give both the students and the authorities a chance to collect themselves, assess the situation, and put in place the necessary safeguards to stop the alarming incidents from happening again.

The Board of Management (BOM), representatives from the Ministry of Education, members of the Teachers’ Service Commission (TSC), and the school’s devoted sponsor all participated in the meticulous deliberation that led to the decision to provide this respite.
