EVERY CLASS EIGHT, INCLUDING UNREGISTERED CANDIDATES, TO SIT FOR THE KCPE
Under the direction of Education Cabinet Secretary Cs. Ezekiel Machogu, the Ministry of Education has issued a directive allowing all unregistered candidates for the Kenya Certificate of Primary Education (KCPE) to sit for their exams. This decision was made in response to complaints that certain school heads, for a variety of reasons, neglected to register students.
Because of this, CS. Machogu has declared that all candidates who experienced problems registering for the exam ought to show up at their individual schools on Monday. Candidates who have not enrolled will still be able to take their exams.
The Ministry admits that it has been a continuous problem for some students from specific schools to remain unregistered. If it is discovered that school heads failed to fulfill their obligations to register candidates for these exams, CS. Machogu has promised that appropriate action will be taken against them.
KCPE Candidates Who Are Not Registered to Take Exams
When compared to prior years, the number of pupils registered for the KCPE exams is at an all-time high this year. The 8-4-4 system is predicted to come to an end with the 2023 KCPE exams, with the current class 8 applicants representing the last cohort to receive an education under this outdated framework.
In 2023, the KCPE exams are slated to be held over three days, starting on Monday, October 30, 2023, and ending on Wednesday, November 1, 2023.
