Joy for Teachers as Treasury Allocates money for Promotions
To honor and value the sacrifices and dedication of teachers, the Treasury has allocated the Teachers Service Commission (TSC) Sh1 billion for teacher advancement.
The distribution of Sh1 billion, albeit not being the full sum requested by the TSC, is an important step in settling the problems raised by educators.
The money allocated will go a long way toward progressing the nearly 14,000 teachers who have higher degrees but have been stuck at the same level, even though the TSC had originally requested Sh2.2 billion for teacher advancements.
The promotion will benefit instructors at secondary and primary schools, including principals, assistant principals, senior masters, head teachers, and deputy head teachers.
With over 7,720 seats available, teachers who have been impatiently expecting professional advancement will now have the chance.
Regarding employment stagnation, several teachers have expressed grave worries, which has impacted their motivation and professional advancement.
