The Kenya National Examinations Council (KNEC) has announced the opening of several lucrative tenders, calling on eligible bidders to apply for contracts.

In a public notice issued through the government publication My Gov on Tuesday, KNEC announced that the council would engage qualified service providers to provide support to its various operations via specific contractual agreements.

The contracts range from various service categories, including cleaning, vehicle maintenance, and general repairs.

Topping the list of tendered opportunities is the provision of office cleaning and fumigation services, with the council announcing that this tender will mainly target women.

In addition, the council has invited bidders to submit bids for the maintenance and repair of electric fences and the repair of office furniture, safes, and bulk fillers. Youth are highly encouraged to apply.

The tenders, according to KNEC, are open to individuals and companies that meet the requirements outlined in the official bid documents.

Experts in motor vehicles are also in line for huge tenders as KNEC is also offering a framework contract for the repair of motor vehicles used by the Council as well as contracts for the maintenance and repair of lifts in its buildings.

Routine small works and repairs are also part of the framework to ensure continuous quality maintenance of KNEC’s infrastructure. For this tender, the council is targeting the youth.

Additionally, KNEC is looking to engage with firms that provide debt recovery services in a move likely aimed at boosting the council’s ability to ensure payments are followed up professionally.

Interested bidders have been advised to obtain detailed tender documents through three channels – the official KNEC website, the Public Procurement Information, or the National Treasury’s supplier portal.

The council further noted that each tender has its own specific requirements and submission end dates, which are indicated in the respective bid documents.
