KNEC releases the dates for the Grades 3, 4, 5, and 7 CBA Exam in 2023.
The dates for the administration of Competency-Based Assessments (CBA) for Grades 3, 4, 5, and 7 have been released by the Kenya National Examination Council (KNEC).
The assessment resources had previously been uploaded on the CBA portal, according to KNEC CEO David Njengere.
Students in grade 3 will be evaluated on integrated learning from June 5 to August 11 while taking math and English exams on October 2 and turning in their results by October 26.
The assessment tools will be made available in PDF and digital forms. All student assessment results will be scored by schools and uploaded to the CBA portal, according to Njengere.
Beginning on July 10, the testing resources will be made available to pupils in grades 4 and 5, and the results must be uploaded by August 11 at the latest. Students in these grades will take 11 different written topic exams as well as the Special Needs Education (SNE) Foundation level assessment between October 2 and October 26.
Teachers will grade students using the stated criteria after assessing them during performance-based assignments. If there are evaluation tools that need their use, colour photos should be printed in colour and submitted to the digital platforms available in schools.
Students in grade 7 will be evaluated on their performance assignments, projects, and practicals from July 3 through August 11. This covers a variety of courses, including English, home science, integrated science, health education, physical education, and sports, as well as religious education for Muslims and Hindus.
On October 2, the Council will make the Grade 7 written assessment tools for Math, English, Kiswahili, Kenyan Sign Language, and Integrated Science accessible. By October 23, 2023, the results of these written exams must be sent in.
Since the adoption of the competency-based curriculum, tests have been a part of the educational system’s formative evaluations. The council makes the evaluation tools available for schools to download and use with their pupils.
KNEC now offers schools two options for accessing the evaluation tools in an effort to cut down on printing costs. The online evaluation tools will be available in PDF and digital formats.
The scores must be uploaded on the KNEC portal by August 11, 2023, according to the professors. From October 2 to October 26, 2023, the students will take the written exams for math and English.
Dates for the 2023 Grades 3, 4, 5, and 7 CBA Exam are released by KNEC.
