List of Subjects for Written Exams in Grades 3, 4, and 7 is released by KNEC
National Written Exams for Grades 3, 4, 5, and 7 – October 2023
Kenyan students in grades 3, 4, 5, and 7 will begin taking their national written exams in October 2023. These exams, which are given by the Kenya National Examinations Council (Knec), are given after the students have finished their projects and practicals, which took place between June 6 and August 10.
On October 2, 2023, the written tests for each grade are slated to start. The subjects and associated testing windows for each grade are shown below:
Topics with written tests in grade three
The written exams for students in Grade 3 will cover two subjects and be given from October 2 through October 26, 2023:
1. Mathematics
2. English
3. Kiswahili
4. Agriculture
5. Social Studies
6. Home Science
7. Art and Craft
8. CRE/IRE/HRE
9. Science and Technology
10. Kenyan Sign Language
Topics with written tests in grade 5
The written exams for students in Grade 5 will take place from October 2 through October 26 in 2023 and will cover the following topics:
1. Mathematics
2. English
3. Kiswahili
4. Agriculture
5. Social Studies
6. Home Science
7. Art and Craft
8. CRE/IRE/HRE
9. Science and Technology
10. Kenyan Sign Language
Topics with written tests in grade 7
Between October 2 and October 26, 2023, students in grade 7 will take written examinations covering both required and elective topics. These topics consist of:

3. Kiswahili
4. Agriculture
5. Social Studies
6. Visual Arts
7. Performing Arts
8. CRE/IRE/HRE
9. Science and Technology
10. Kenyan Sign Language
11. Integrated Science
12. Computer Studies

15. Pre-Technical and Pre-Career Education
