MACHOGU DECLARES NEW MEANS TO STOP CHEATING IN KCSE & KCPE

KNEC NEWS RECOMMENDATIONS. Ezekiel Machogu, the cabinet secretary for education, has outlined more steps to combat exam fraud in this year’s national exams.

He said that center managers will now collect morning and afternoon exam papers separately at a graduation ceremony at the Kenya Institute of Special Education in Kasarani.

This means that before receiving the second set of papers for the afternoon, school administrators will return the morning exams and student answer sheets.

With these new precautions, Machogu hopes to stop exam papers from being revealed or leaked during the morning session.

The number of containers and distribution centers has been raised to help with this, making it simpler for center administrators to obtain the documents.

To lessen the risk of early exposure, managers will now collect papers both in the morning and in the afternoon.

To give instructors a more comfortable environment, the Ministry of Education has increased the number of marking centers.

Just a few days remain till the start of the national exams with these revisions.

The first day of the Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE) is set for October 23, with practicals in French, German, and Music.

The first main paper, Chemistry Paper 1, will start on November 6. On October 30, students in Class 8 will start their Kenya Certificate of Primary Education (KCPE) tests.

KNEC NEWS RECOMMENDS
These new regulations from CS Machogu are a supplement to those announced on October 19 by the Kenya National Examinations Council (KNEC).

To prevent cheating on exams, KNEC has prohibited Bluetooth gadgets, smartwatches, and programmable calculators.

Furthermore, it is not permitted for instructors or students to bring handbags, briefcases, backpacks, or kiondos into the test rooms.
