Required Ksh 1,500 Placement Fee for Students Explained by KUCCPS

The Kenya Universities and Colleges Central Placement Service (KUCCPS) gave an explanation of why it requires KCSE candidates who want to be placed in different higher education institutions to pay a Ksh1,500 placement fee.

On March 1, the government institution responded to a worried applicant and underlined that the charge was outlined in both the placement policy and the processing method.

The applicant questioned, “Why do you charge students Ksh1,500 for placement when you are a completely exchequer-funded entity and additionally the application process for the placement is totally digitalized?

“We value your opinions. In accordance with the placement policy and the processing method, KUCCPS assesses an application fee “KUCCPS answered.

The organization also advised other interested applicants to visit the official website, www.kuccps.net, for additional details.

The school said, “The placement procedure paper is available on the KUCCPS website, downloads area.

Institutions must also pay an annual membership fee, which is Ksh100,000 for universities and Ksh70,000 for colleges, according to KUCCPS Placement Processing.

On the other side, students must pay Ksh1,500 for all placement assistance. At the school level, tuition is typically Ksh 500. Afterwards, during the initial revision level, they will pay Ksh 1,000.

However, during the initial revision, applicants who did not submit an application while enrolled in class must pay Ksh1,500.

Part of the document states that “Reversals will be done” if the money is paid to an incorrect index number.

Moreover, candidates must pay Ksh1,000 for the second revision. The only candidates who may apply during the second revision, however, are those who were not placed after the first.

The gateway for university placements in 2023 has not yet been opened, according to KUCCPS, and more information will be provided when it is.
