Schools have two days to submit their grade 3, 4, and 7 assessment results.
The Kenya National Examination Council (Knec), which administers the national evaluation for pupils in grades 3, 4, 5, and 7, has given public and private schools until August 11 of 2023 to upload the results.
Knec released circulars to guide student evaluations and made assessment tools available for schools to download and utilize.
Teachers were required to grade and upload the assessment results to the online platform by August 11th.
Most schools have finished the first phase of the assessment, which involved a project and practical activities.
Additionally, Knec asked schools to register Grades 3 and 7 pupils before reporting students’ grades because such students weren’t using the system.
For their projects and practicals, the Grade 3 students performed Integrated Learning Assessments (ILA). All subject areas were evaluated in grade three.
Seven disciplines’ projects and practicals were finished in grades 4 and 5. Among these were subjects like agriculture, home science, music, art and craft, social studies, and physical and health education.
Students in grade 7 finished projects and practicals for nine subjects. The performing and visual arts, English, home science, integrated science, health and physical education, sports, and religious instruction for Muslims and Hindus were all covered.
Next term, from October 2 through October 26, students in Grades 4 and 5, as well as Grades 3 and 7, will take the written Knec exams.
The written tests will comprise English and math exercises for third-grade kids.
The tests for pupils in Grades 4 and 5 will cover topics in Math, English, Kiswahili, Kenya Sign Language, Science and Technology, Physical Health Education, Agriculture, Home Science, Social Studies, Art and Craft, and Religious Education.
Both required and elective subjects will be used to evaluate seventh grade students. The fifteen topics for the writing tests were offered by Knec.
Grade 6 pupils were not examined and will not be assessed since they are preparing for their final exam, the Kenya Primary School Education Assessment (KPSEA), which will be given alongside the KCPE.
According to a Knec circular dated April 17 that was addressed to sub county directors and the heads of primary and special schools, the written exams would be given in pdf and digital forms.

Students will need to use their individual assessment numbers to log onto the web portal in digital format.
Students can use tablets provided by the school’s Digital Learning Programme (DLP) to access the assessment tools right away after logging in.
The school will provide writing prompts, and students will be expected to reply.
The resources will be available to schools in PDF format for download.
The assessment tools will then be given to the pupils, either in printed form, via a projector or screen, or by writing them on the board.
Depending on the format being utilized, students may write their answers on the question paper or on the provided writing materials by the school.
Knec said that bright graphics on assessment tools had to be printed in color or incorporated to the school’s digital equipment.
The kids are expected to answer the questions on various response sheets that have been provided by the school. The tests ought to be administered in shifts in institutions with inadequate digital technology.
The headteacher is responsible for keeping track of all documentation and proof derived from the assessments.
The materials required for the tests should be accessible from within the school or, to the fullest extent possible, improvised.
