Shabana FC’s Promotion is Honored by CS Machogu with a $500 donation
Ezekiel Machogu, the cabinet secretary for education, gave Shabana FC a Ksh 500,000 payment as a thank you for their promotion to the Kenyan Premier League (KPL) 2023/2024.
In a tumultuous National Super League (NSL) encounter on Sunday at Gusii Stadium, Shabana Football Club advanced themselves back to the FKF Premier League with a 1-0 victory over Migori Youth.
During a lunch celebration at Bomas of Kenya, Machogu and other leaders from Kisii and Nyamira praised the team.
Shadrack Mose, the solicitor general, Silvanus Osoro, Zaheer Jhanda of Nyaribari Chache, Esther Okenyuri, the nominee for senator, Duke Mainga Echate, Walter Nyambati, Sam Nyamweya, Josephine Omanwa, and others were present.
The leaders collectively thanked Shabana FC for their outstanding accomplishment and pledged their unwavering support as they began their adventure in the prestigious KPL.
The leaders not only offered words of support but also raised a sizeable sum of money to support Shabana FC’s efforts.
The Solicitor General graciously donated Ksh 200,000, while Nyamweya gave Ksh 50,000 and Ksh 150,000 worth of balls.
Joash Maangi, a former deputy governor of Kisii County, contributed Ksh 50,000; Ksh 50,000 was given by Walter Nyambati; and Ksh 30,000 was offered by Duke Mainga.
At the occasion, Machogu reaffirmed his loyalty to supporting Shabana FC and his intention to be present for their forthcoming match against Darajani on Friday, June 23, 2023, at the Police Sacco Stadium.
