According to the Teachers Service Commission, it will take Sh134 billion to put its five-year strategic plan into action.
TSC CEO Nancy Macharia stated during the introduction of the five-year plan that funding is necessary for the plan to be successful.
“The Commission will require a total of over Sh134 billion for the successful implementation of this plan for the next five years to get funds for this stand and to see JSS through and CBC implemented,” Macharia said.
TSC intends to hire 111,870 teachers over the following five years and enhance teaching quality through training.

According to Macharia, the Commission is committed to using proper monitoring and evaluation mechanisms and is very careful with how it uses the resources that have been allotted.
In order to ensure that gender equality is improved, Macharia remarked, “We will mainstream gender equality strategies in teaching service.”
The commission is tasked with integrating safety measures at work and creating policies and procedures that support employee wellbeing in order to improve the health and wellbeing of teachers.
“We will ensure conformity with the statutory and policy framework, including the Constitution, pertinent laws, rules, and regulations on labour and employment,” Macharia stated. “To launch decent work and economic growth.
To enhance leadership and governance, the commission also aims to adopt corporate governance principles.
Additionally, teachers will receive education and training on how to safeguard kids from abuse, exploitation, and other forms of violence.
TSC will fortify ties through collaborations with state and nonstate stakeholders in order to advance the aims.
Additionally, it will involve institutions from different countries in order to mobilize resources and carry out the Commission’s mandate.
