According to a prior remark made by President William Ruto, the currently operating primary schools would serve as the home for the lower secondary grades of 7, 8, and 9.

However, Ruto charged the Ministry of Education with establishing the specific transfer procedures.

It was determined that till the end of this year, principals of elementary schools would also serve as principals of lower secondary schools.

Junior high school students will get a state capitation per child, just like other high school students.

As the time for the school’s reopening approaches, questions have been raised regarding, among other things, the rules, infrastructure, and teacher utilization.

The issue of junior high school students’ access to laboratories was a serious one.

However, additional details about the drafts guidelines were made public at a stakeholders meeting that was presided over by Ezekiel Machogu, the education cabinet secretary, at the Kenya Institute of Curriculum Development (KICD).

Machogu continued by saying that the team’s accomplishments are anticipated to guarantee that all pupils, including those with special needs and disabilities, have access to a secure, appropriate, and sufficient physical infrastructure as well as a friendly environment.

The team was required to make recommendations on how to ensure the provision of adequate and well-prepared human resources to facilitate the delivery of the Junior High School curriculum as well as to outline the roles and responsibilities of significant stakeholders in the implementation of the various Junior High School components.
