Teachers in Job Group C2 will have their salaries increased.
The only Commission in Kenya with the authority to hire, advance, and move teachers between working stations is the Teachers Service Commission (TSC). The Commission has been working hard to ensure teachers receive equitable compensation while currently being led by Dr. Nancy Macharia.
One of the courses in Kenya that calls for dedication, endurance, and effort is teaching as a job. Many top-performing college students decide to teach as a last resort because it may not be their ideal career.
However, it appears that attitudes regarding the teaching profession are changing. Given that the majority of students at Kenyan colleges are now choosing to become teachers as their career route, teaching is progressively becoming a more marketable course in universities.

The Kenya Union for Post Primary Education Teachers’ (KUPPET) recent efforts to convince the Teachers Service Commission to increase the pay of newly hired teachers make this trend even more positive.
The lowest-paid secondary school teacher currently makes 34,959 shillings, according to the Union. This pay is viewed as being insufficient for teachers who put in countless hours to educate pupils.
According to KUPPET, TSC should think about increasing teachers’ pay from the current level of 34,959 to 74,259, which would be a considerable 70% rise. In Kenyan universities, teaching is set to become one of the most sought-after careers if the commission accedes to the Union’s demands.
