In Kisumu and Sigalagala National Polytechnics, Muoria presided over the official beginning of the procedure.
For 1,300 TVET trainers, the State Department of Technical Vocational Education and Training has started conducting interviews.

She claimed that if the proper people are hired, the government’s goal of equipping young people with the necessary skills will be realized.
The correct individuals must be hired in order to support the implementation of reforms in our TVET institutions, according to Muoria.
I conducted spot checks at the Kisumu and Sigalagala National Polytechnics, which housed a total of 38 institutions located in both regions, to officially kick off the process.
The PS encouraged the panellists to adhere to Kenya’s constitution and other pertinent legal criteria, which set the standards for a free, impartial, and competitive process.
On May 16, Muoria stated that there is a severe lack of trainers, with only 5,417 teachers now in the workforce.
She claimed that in the fiscal year 2023–2024, the Public Service Commission had given them permission to hire 3,000 trainers at a cost of Sh1.992 billion.
The State Department was given a budget of Sh720 million, leaving a balance of Sh1.27 billion, according to Muoria.
She cited equipment shortages in 70 recently finished institutions, financing restrictions under capitation, and the hiring and promotion of trainers as major areas in need of resources.
She continued by saying that Sh15.2 billion would be needed for equipment for finished institutions and Sh2.095 billion for sponsoring technical training.
