TSC ANNOUNCES THAT ALL INTERN TEACHERS MUST COMPLETE A 2- YEAR SERVICE REQUIREMENT BEFORE PNP EMPLOYMENT

TSC internship employment 2024.Following TSC remarks on Monday regarding intern teachers, all the teachers MUST now work for all least 2 years before getting permanent employment letters.

TSC CEO DR. Macharia missed to appear before parliamentary committee on Monday because she was overseeing the distribution of KCSE 2023 Examinations.

In regards to that, she sent her representative to Parliament

The Director of staffing Mr Antonina Lentoijoni and TSC legal officer Calvin Anyuor.

Appearing before the committee, he said that all 46,000 teachers employed on internship terms will be converted to pnp automatically as from 2025.

This is after serving for two years.

Before Monday, the Teachers commission used to employ all the intern teachers both primary and secondary after a period of one year,

Therefore paving way for other teachers to receive the internship opportunity.

TSC has developed a new policy that will see all intern teachers work for a period of two year before receiving permanent offer.

Consequently, This means a teacher will be recruited on a one year internship term and later renew the contract for another year.

In February and July, the Teachers Service Commission employed a total of 40,000 intern teachers.

TSC Commission has cofirmed  that all the 46,000 intern teachers on TSC payroll will be converted to permanent terms in 2025.

All these teachers have been employed according to all the manifesto of Kenya Kwanza government’s agenda and as well as the Junior Secondary School (JSS) demands.

With the current struggling economy, confirming all these intern teachers on permanent basis will be a a dream.

During taxpayers day, President Ruto allocated 19.7 billion to TSC for the purpose of teachers recruitment.

The new recruits are expected to plug the gap by grade 8 in January next year.

All these money will be allocated in Supplementary Budget totalling to 62 billion to facilitate all the exercise In education and TSC.

“Our budget to TSC has increased by Sh20 billion because we are hiring additional teachers. Some 56,000 additional teachers are on our payroll this year,” Ruto said.
