TSC Commences Document Verification For JSS Intern Teachers
Under the instruction of the instructors Service Commission (TSC), the process of document verification for primary and junior secondary school intern instructors nationwide has started.
All TSC sub-county directors across the country have asked qualified intern applicants to review their documentation starting on Monday, July 31, according to communications received by Kenyadailypress.co.ke.
Candidates who receive an SMS from the sub-county director should present the following records while they are being checked by the recruiting panel.
National identification card; certificate of registration as a teacher; diploma or degree certificate and official transcripts; KCSE or equivalent certificates (including certificates for attempts if one resat exams); KCPE certificate or equivalent certificates (including certificates for attempts if one resat exams); primary and secondary school leaving certificates and other pertinent testimonials;
Card issued by the National Council of Persons with Disabilities (NCPWD), if appropriate;
A letter of certification of results from KNEC (where applicable) and an affidavit made pursuant to the Oaths and Statutory Declarations Act, Cap. 15 of the Laws of Kenya, to explain the difference in names.
Sub-County Directors are required to verify the online registration status of the applicants in accordance with TSC recruitment guidelines. This is done to ensure that only registered and qualified teachers are given consideration during the shortlisting stage and to prevent engaging with unregistered/deregistered teachers or ineligible candidates.

“The TSC Sub-County Director shall invite shortlisted applicants for the document verification via Short Messaging Service (SMS). The notification must include the date, place, and time of the interview.
Before performing the document verification, at least seven (7) days must have passed since the invitation date. TSC advice is a component.
The Commission makes sure that 5% of all open positions for new instructors are set aside for teachers with disabilities in accordance with the provisions of the Constitution and the Law.
For 18,000 intern teachers in junior secondary schools (JSS) and 2,000 intern teachers in public primary schools, the TSC publicized job vacancies earlier this month.
The one-year internship program’s objective, according to a circular from the commission, is to prepare and uphold the competencies of tutors who are starting their careers as teachers.
Primary school interns may be paid Sh15,000 per month, whereas JSS interns may be paid Sh20,000 per month.
