TSC Establishes a Deadline for 36,000 Promotion Applications; View
A substantial chance for teachers to apply for 36,000 promotion openings has been offered by the Teachers’ Service Commission (TSC), with the application deadline set for September 8, 2023. Concerns regarding the stagnation of teachers’ careers will be addressed by these promotions, which will cover nine different grade levels.
This development follows successfully concluded teacher compensation review negotiations, and it aims to advance teachers at all levels in primary and secondary schools as well as teacher-training facilities.
- 12,716 opportunities for senior master positions.
- In traditional elementary schools, 10,819 teachers will be promoted to senior teachers.
- 700 senior teacher opportunities in facilities for pupils with disabilities.
- 216 senior lecturer positions in teacher-training colleges in Grade C4.
- There are also 108 senior principal roles and 34 chief principal positions open.

By September 8th, interested teachers must submit their applications through the TSC portal. The National Treasury has provided Ksh 1 billion toward the cost of these 36,275 promotions.
