TSC Intern Recruitment Requires Voter’s Card and Title Deed

TSC Intern Recruitment Requires Voter’s Card and Title Deed

The Teachers Service Commission (TSC) has set new requirements for the ongoing employment of intern teachers in junior secondary schools.

Some sub-county directors demanded that intern recruits submit documents demonstrating their sub-county of origin in accordance with TSC recruitment guidelines.

The recruiting requirements for 2023–2024 indicate in clause XVIII that applicants from the respective sub-counties/counties shall be given precedence.

TSC requests copies of the voter’s card, birth certificate, land title deed, and marriage certificate from applicants for internships in the Westlands constituency of Nairobi as proof of residency.

Their residency in the designated county or sub-county must be proven by the supporting papers.

The Commission has additionally advised shortlisted candidates to refrain from showing up at the hiring offices if they do not have the required documentation.

TSC usually uses the number of years after graduation and the caliber of academic and professional credentials to break ties during the selection process.

TSC regulations state that 5% of the open positions must be reserved for applicants with impairments.

Sub-County Directors are required to verify the online registration status of the applicants in accordance with TSC recruitment guidelines. This is done to ensure that only registered and qualified teachers are given consideration during the shortlisting stage and to prevent engaging with unregistered/deregistered teachers or ineligible candidates.

TSC released information on 2,000 openings in public primary schools and 18,000 positions for junior secondary school intern instructors on July 5.

The Commission states that teacher interns employed in primary schools will be entitled to a monthly salary of Sh15,000, while those employed in JSS will be paid a stipend of Sh20,000.

Candidates must be unemployed and have no history of intern or regular, pensionable employment with the Commission, according to the eligibility conditions.
