TSC Promotion requirements from C1 to C2 in September 2023
According to Article 237 (1) of the Constitution, the Teachers Service Commission performs the duties of a constitutional commission.
According to the Career Progression Guidelines for Teachers, the Commission is seeking applications from teachers who meet the necessary qualifications for the jobs indicated below.
By no later than September 8, 2023, qualified applicants who meet the requirements should submit their applications online through the TSC portal at www.teachersonline.go.ke.
Manually filed applications won’t be taken into consideration.
The Teachers Service Commission promotes diversity and welcomes applications from people with impairments.
Before being appointed, successful interviewees must present genuine Chapter 6 documentation.
These records consist of:
- A Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) Certificate of Good Conduct
- An HELB (Higher Education Loans Board) clearance certificate
- A certificate of tax compliance issued by the Kenya Revenue Authority (KRA)
the Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission’s (EACC) approval
- A Clearance Certificate from a Credit Reference Bureau (CRB) that has granted approval.

SENIOR TEACHER II (REGULAR PRIMARY SCHOOL) – T-SCALE 7 – 10,819 POSITIONS: ADVERTISEMENT NO. 61/2023(C1-C2)
APPOINTMENT REQUIREMENTS
In order to be chosen for this post, a teacher must:
i. Have at least three (3) years of experience as a Primary Teacher I T-Scale 6;
ii. Receive a favorable evaluation throughout the performance review process;
iii. Meet the requirements listed in Chapter Six of the Constitution; and
iv. Comply with any further conditions imposed by the Commission.
Note: Candidates in desert and difficult-to-staff counties who have held the position for at least two years are qualified.
SENIOR TEACHER II (SNE PRIMARY SCHOOL) – T-SCALE 7 – 700 POSITIONS: ADVERTISEMENT NO. 62/2023 (C1-C2)
APPOINTMENT REQUIREMENTS
In order to be chosen for this post, a teacher must:
i. Have at least three (3) years of experience as a Primary Teacher I T-Scale 6;
ii. Possess a Special Needs Education Diploma (in the relevant field);
iii. Receive a favorable evaluation throughout the performance review process;
iii. Meet the requirements listed in Section 6 of the Constitution; and
v. Comply with any further conditions imposed by the Commission.
Note: Candidates in desert and difficult-to-staff counties who have held the position for at least two years are qualified.
