TSC RELEASES A LIST OF TEACHERS WITH PENDING TRANSFERS BY COUNTY.

TSC mass transfers Dec/Jan(2024). The Teachers Service Commission (TSC) has begun bulk approval of teacher transfers in order to re-route delocalized teachers before the start of the next school year.

According to information from the Commission’s headquarters, regional and inter-regional transfer requests are being processed to allow transfers in December and early January.

Teachers are transferred from one county to another within the same region at the regional level.

Such transfers are overseen by TSC Regional Directors.

TSC transfer boards at the national level are in charge of approving transfers for teachers who want to move to counties outside of their stationed region.

Around 26,871 teachers are attempting to return to their home counties.

Due to a shortage of acceptable placements, the teachers were unsuccessful in past mass transfers.

As of June 30, 46,926 primary and secondary school teachers had requested to be transported back to their home counties,

but only 20,055 had been relocated.

Before granting a transfer request, the commission confirms that the station a teacher is leaving has a suitable replacement and that there is a vacancy in the requested station.

Education CS Ezekiel Machogu emphasized the TSC’s mandate to ensure equitable teacher distribution and optimal utilization in public basic education institutions for quality education, as per Article 43 of the Constitution.

The CS states that teachers wishing to transfer between institutions must submit a request,

guided by equitable distribution and optimal utilization.
