TSC RELEASES DIGITAL TEACHER REGISTRATION CERTIFICATES
TSC Releases Certificates of Digital Teacher Registration. The TSC is set to introduce digital teacher registration certificates on 1 November 2023, marking a significant shift in the certification process. Under this new initiative, successful applicants will receive digital certificates with their individual TSC numbers, eliminating the issue of physical certificates. Instead, these digital certificates will be sent directly to teachers’ email addresses.
This transition is in line with the global digitization trend to simplify access and management of registration certificates for educators. Teachers are encouraged to download and print digital certificates to ensure easy documentation of their registration status. The move has been warmly welcomed by the teaching community, simplifying procedures and reducing the risk of physical certificates being misplaced or damaged in an increasingly digital world.
Experts and teachers consider this TSC initiative as a progressive step in the adoption of digitization. The move to digital registration certificates is expected to enhance education by providing instructors with convenient access to essential records, speed up administrative processes and benefit educators and students across Kenya.
Before starting work in a public or private school, section 237 of the Teachers Service Commission Act 2012 mandates the registration of trained teachers by the commission. The TSC online registration process usually involves visiting the TSC service portal, filling the registration form with personal and employment details, creating a password and attaching scanned copies of relevant documents.
