DEPUTY PRINCIPAL I T-SCALE 13
For secondary school Deputy Principals, this is a promotion grade. The Principal will receive reports from the Deputy Principal II. He or she will assist the institution’s Principal in creating and carrying out educational plans, policies, programs, and curriculum activities.
Promotion to this grade will be competitive and contingent on openings in the organization.
APPOINTMENT REQUIREMENTS
In order to be appointed to this grade, you must:
possess a valid Teaching Certificate, satisfy the requirements of Chapter 6 of the Constitution, have held the position of Deputy Principal II or Senior Master I T-Scale 12 for a minimum of three (3) years, be the holder of a Master’s degree in a relevant field, have a satisfactory rating in the performance appraisal process, have successfully completed the relevant TPD modules, and satisfy any additional requirements deemed necessary by the Commission.

T-SCALE 11 DEPUTY PRINCIPAL III DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
A teacher at this level must do the following duties:
To ensure that the curriculum is covered in time for evaluation, produce lesson plans, lesson notes, schedules, schemes of work, and maintain academic standards in the school.
Initiate new ideas and programs to ensure improvement in teaching and learning in the subjects of specialization; teach subjects of specialization to impart knowledge, skills, and attitudes to the learner;
evaluate learners on subjects of specialization and prepare learners for national and other examinations;
use a collaborative planning and teaching approach to teamwork to achieve consistency and advancement in curriculum delivery;
act as a role model and uphold student discipline;
organize corrective measures to support students with performance gaps; induct and guide new teachers and teacher trainees on their duties, the rules and culture of the institution; ensure proper and optimal
utilization of resources allocated for training and learning; and participate in workshops, seminars, and symposiums to share ideas and advance subject-area knowledge.
Coordinate the creation and production of course materials for curriculum delivery; engage in research in areas of expertise; coordinate and offer guidance and counseling services to teachers, nonteaching staff, and students in order to instill norms and values for peaceful coexistence;
ensure that the institution’s teachers, nonteaching staff, and students maintain proper discipline in order to foster a conducive learning environment; supervise.
oversee the management of inventories, requisitions, and storage to ensure accountability and effective use;
maintain meeting minutes and act as the staff meetings’ secretary; assist the principal in organizing and overseeing institutional activities, such as maintaining cleanliness and general repairs;
assist the principal in the supervision of teaching and non-teaching staff; maintain staff and student records, such as learner registers, staff attendance, leave management forms, and discipline cases; xxiii.give feedback on teachers;
foster good relationships between the institution and stakeholders, such as the local community, parents, and private sector organizations; ensure the welfare and safety of students;
support the principal in the wise management of institutional resources; preside over meetings of the heads of departments and discipline committees; and perform any other duties that may be assigned.
