TSC Teacher Promotions Are Ending Soon

Applications for September promotions must be submitted by Friday, September 8, 2023, according to the Teachers Service Commission (TSC).

After the application portal is closed, the Commission will begin interviewing teachers in their respective counties.

Concern has been expressed by a number of instructors who were demoted from their working positions after experiencing difficulties with their applications.

The professors’ TMIS information still shows that they are working in their previous institutions. Their old schools still have their TPADs.

Teachers must submit their 2020, 2021, and 2022 TPAD results in the online application.

HOW TO PRINT A TPAD REPORT IN PAST FORM

(2020, 2021, 2022)

  • Open your TPAD account and log in.
  • Select SELF APPRAISAL under APPRAISALS on the dashboard.

VIEW ARCHIVED APPRAISAL should be selected. A popup for caution will appear.

  • Select advanc.
  • Press PROCEED. (It is marked as ‘Unsafe.’) Disregard the caution)
  • On each term appraisal, click the VIEW APPRAISAL tab in the upper right corner.
  • To print each page on your computer, type CTRL+P.

•Obtain the year average score to calculate the numbers to enter in the promotion application portal.

  • Print the reports, and have your institution’s head of security stamp them. Keep these so you may refer to them in the promotion interviews.

The transferred instructors are requesting that TSC fix the TMIS blunder so that they can apply for the listed positions like their peers.

In August, the Commission published advertisements for 36,275 promotion openings for teachers in job groups C1 to D5.

POSITIONS AVAILABLE FOR SENIOR MASTER, SENIOR LECTURER, SENIOR MASTER, SECONDARY TEACHER I, HEAD-TEACHER, DEPUTY HEAD-TEACHER, AND SENIOR TEACHER

According to Article 237 (1) of the Constitution, the Teachers Service Commission was created as a constitutional commission.

In accordance with this directive, the Commission invites applications from instructors who meet the necessary qualifications for the positions listed below.

Candidates who are interested and meet the requirements should submit their applications online through the TSC portal at www.teachersonline.go.ke by September 8, 2023, at the latest.

Applications submitted manually will not be accepted.

NB: Prior to being appointed, successful interview candidates must show that they have valid Chapter 6 documentation.

CHIEF PRINCIPAL (REGULAR SECONDARY SCHOOL) T-SCALE 15 – 34 POSTS, ADVERT NO. 46/2023(D4-D5)

APPOINTMENT REQUIREMENTS

If a teacher wants to teach this grade, they must:

i. Have held the position of Senior Principal T-Scale 14 for at least three (3) years;

ii. Receive a favorable rating in the processes of performance contracting and performance appraisal;

iii. Possess a track record of supervising, mentoring, and assisting other educators professionally;

iii. Comply with the Constitution’s Chapter Six obligations; and

v. Comply with any other requirements the Commission deems necessary.

NB: Candidates who have worked in the present grade for at least two years are eligible in Asal and Hard to staff counties.

SENIOR PRINCIPAL (REGULAR SECONDARY SCHOOL) T-SCALE 14 – 108 POSTS: ADVERT NO. 47/2023(D3 -D4)

APPOINTMENT REQUIREMENTS

If a teacher wants to teach this grade, they must:

PRINCIPAL (REGULAR SECONDARY SCHOOL) T-SCALE 13 – 541 POSTS: ADVERT NO. 48/2023(D2-D3)

APPOINTMENT REQUIREMENTS

If a teacher wants to teach this grade, they must:

i. Have held the position of Senior Master I/Deputy Principal II, T-Scale 12, for at least two (2) years;

ii. Received a favorable evaluation during the performance review process;

iii. Possess a track record of supervising, mentoring, and assisting other educators professionally;

iii. Comply with the Constitution’s Chapter Six obligations; and

v. Comply with any other requirements the Commission deems necessary.

DEPUTY PRINCIPAL II (REGULAR SECONDARY SCHOOL) T-SCALE 12 – 547 POSTS: ADVERT NO. 49/2023(D1-D2)

APPOINTMENT REQUIREMENTS

If a teacher wants to teach this grade, they must:

i. Have worked as a Senior Master II T-Scale 11 or Deputy Principal III for at least three (3) years;

ii. Received a favorable evaluation during the performance review process;

iii. Possess a track record of supervising, mentoring, and assisting other educators professionally;

iii. Comply with the Constitution’s Chapter Six obligations; and

v. Comply with any other requirements the Commission deems necessary.

SENIOR LECTURER I T-SCALE 12 – 72 POSTS: ADVERT NO. 50/2023(D1-D2)

APPOINTMENT REQUIREMENTS

i. Have held the position of Senior Lecturer II T-Scale 11 for at least three (3) years;

ii. Received a favorable evaluation during the performance review process;

iii. Possess a track record of supervising, mentoring, and assisting other educators professionally;

iii. Comply with the Constitution’s Chapter Six obligations; and

v. Comply with any other requirements the Commission deems necessary.

DEPUTY PRINCIPAL III (REGULAR SECONDARY SCHOOL) T-SCALE 11 – 1057 POSTS: ADVERT NO. 51/2023(C5-D1)

i. Have held the position of Senior Master III T-Scale 10 for at least three (3) years;

ii. Received a favorable evaluation during the performance review process;

vi. Possess a track record of professional leadership, mentoring, and assistance to other educators;

iii. Comply with any other requirements the Commission deems necessary.

i. Have held the position of Senior Master IV T-Scale 9 for at least two (2) years;

ii. Received a favorable evaluation during the performance review process;

iii. Possess a track record of supervising, mentoring, and assisting other educators professionally;

iii. Comply with the requirements of Article VI, Chapter 6 of the Constitution; and

v. Comply with any other requirements the Commission deems necessary.

i. Have at least two (2) years of experience as a Secondary Teacher I, T-Scale 8;

ii. Received a favorable evaluation during the performance review process;

iii. Comply with the requirements of Article VI, Chapter 6 of the Constitution; and

iii. Comply with any other requirements the Commission deems necessary.

SECONDARY TEACHER I (REGULAR SCHOOL), T- SCALE 8 – 1928 POSTS, ADVERT NO. 55/2023(C2-C3)

APPOINTMENT REQUIREMENTS

A teacher must meet the following requirements to be appointed to this grade:

i. Have worked for a minimum of three (3) years as a Secondary School Teacher II, T-Scale 7;

ii. Receive a favorable evaluation throughout the performance review process;

iii. Comply with any other conditions the Commission deems necessary.

NB: Candidates who have worked in the present grade for at least two years are eligible in the Asal and Hard to Staff counties.

Head Teacher (Regular Primary School), T-Scale 10 – 1049 Posts, Ad No. 56/2023(C4-C5)

APPOINTMENT REQUIREMENTS

If a teacher wants to teach this grade, they must:

i. Have held the position of Deputy Head Teacher II TSC Scale 9 for at least three (3) years;

ii. Receive a favorable evaluation throughout the performance review process;

iii. Possess a track record of supervising, mentoring, and assisting other educators professionally;

iii. Comply with the Constitution’s Chapter Six obligations; and

v. Comply with any additional requirements the Commission may impose.

HEAD TEACHER (SNE PRIMARY SCHOOL) T-SCALE 10 – 30 POSTS: ADVERT NO. 57/2023(C4-C5)

iii. Receive a satisfactory rating in the process of performance evaluation;

iv. Possess a track record of supervising, mentoring, and assisting other educators professionally;

v. Comply with the Constitution’s Chapter Six obligations; and

vi. Comply with any additional requirements the Commission may impose.

NB: Candidates who have worked in the present grade for at least two years are eligible in the Asal and Hard to Staff counties.

DEPUTY HEAD TEACHER II (REGULAR PRIMARY SCHOOL) T-SCALE 9 – 1,930 POSTS: ADVERT NO. 58/2023(C3-C4)

APPOINTMENT REQUIREMENTS

If a teacher wants to teach this grade, they must:

i. have held the position of Senior Teacher I T-Scale 8 for at least three (3) years;

ii. receive a favorable evaluation on the performance review;

iii. possess the expertise necessary to oversee, guide, and support other educators on a professional level;
