Application for 13,000 Teaching Positions with KUCCPS 2023 Reopens; How to Apply. On Saturday, July 15, the Kenya Universities and Colleges Central Placement Service (KUCCPS), which puts students in programs leading to a diploma in teaching, opened its online application portal.

Ezekiel Machogu, the cabinet secretary for education, announced that candidates will be vying for 13,439 slots in the Diploma in Primary Teacher Education (DPTE) and Diploma in Early Childhood Teacher Education (DECTE) programs at Kangaru School in Embu, where he presided over an education and career guidance day.

A mean grade of C (plain) on the Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE) exam is the absolute minimum requirement for qualification.

According to the Education CS, the curriculum won’t include any new prerequisites.

He claims that the Kenya Universities and Colleges Central Placement Service (KUCCPS), which recently launched its online application portal, will provide services to the 32 public teacher training institutes.

The gateway would remain open until July 28, 2023, according to KUCCPS Chief Executive Officer Agnes Mercy Wahome, who spoke at the same ceremony.

According to Wahome, the choice is open to all qualified holders of a KCSE certificate, including non-Kenyans who passed the exam in 2022 or earlier up until the year 2000.

In the DPTE program, 11,358 spots are available for enrolment, whereas 2,081 spots are vacant in the DECTE program.

The CEO of KUCCPS gave a speech to the students at Kangaru School, advising them to match their Form One and Form Two subject choices with their long-term professional goals.

She also suggested that Forms Three and Four students choose courses at colleges and universities that would best suit their interests, skills, and financial situation.

Wahome likewise counseled the kids to base their profession choices on their academic strengths and areas of excellence.

Cyrus Gituai, the chairman of the KUCCPS Board, believes that every student should have the opportunity to pursue higher education, regardless of how well they perform academically.

Put in your password, KCSE year, and KCSE index number to log in.

To access the Teacher Training Colleges (TTC) programs tab, go to the placement site.
Applications for DPTE and DECTE are both accessible. There will be a list of the 32 accredited training institutions as well as information on the first year’s cost.
