According to Indimuli Kahi, chairman of the Kenya Secondary School Heads Association, the government presently owes schools at least Sh9,000 per student as unpaid balances from the fiscal year 2020–2021.
“Each student’s Sh22,244 capitation has not been paid in full. Like how there is still a balance in the year 2020–2021, which is sorely needed. Per pupil, we have been receiving roughly Sh17,000. “Now the government owes us almost Sh9,000 per student,” Kahi remarked.
