Exam Dates for the KCPE and KCSE for Term 3
The busiest time of the academic year is usually the third term, which is distinguished by its briefness and rigor.
Over two million candidates will take the national exams in the months of October and November, a startling number.
The last term, which is slated to span from August 28 to October 27, ends just a few days before the start of the national exams. This term won’t have the usual breaks provided to pupils because of its compressed timeframe.
A 10-week break, from October 28 to January 8, has been set aside for students who are not sitting the national exams.

The term information and pertinent dates are broken down as follows:
- Last Term August 28 through October 27.
- National Exams Break: None
- Holiday for Learners Who Aren’t Taking Exams: October 28–January 8
Final Kenya Certificate of Primary Education (KCPE) applicants and Grade Six pupils will become immersed in their national examinations as the calendar advances. These exams are planned over a four-day span beginning on October 30 and concluding on November 2.
The Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE) tests begin the following day, November 3, and last through November 24.
The National Examinations’ schedule is as follows:
- Exams for the KCPE and Grade Six: October 30–November 2
- November 3 through November 24: KCSE Exams
Additionally, the ministry has announced that by the end of December 15 all national exam evaluations will be completed, and grades will be given.
