KDF Announces Mass Recruitment for 2023; Application Process
KDF Posts Information on Mass Recruitment for 2023. Inviting candidates to enlist as tradesmen/women, constables, general duty recruits, specialized officers, and general service officer (GSO) cadets, the Kenya Defence Forces (KDF) has announced a 2023 mass recruiting drive for a number of jobs.

The hiring process is anticipated to take place in August and September of 2023.

To be recruited for the KDF, applicants must meet both basic standards and academic requirements:

possessing just Kenyan citizenship.
possess a legitimate Kenyan ID and four copies of the ID and PIN certificates.
meet the age requirements, which range from 18 to 26 years for GSO cadets, recruits for regular duty, and tradespeople/women with certificates/government trade examinations. The maximum age is 30 for specialist officers, diploma-holding tradespeople/women, and chaplains/imams.
satisfying KDF requirements and being in good health.
possess a clear criminal history.
comply with the minimum height and weight requirements, which vary for men and women.
Female applicants who are pregnant are not allowed to participate in recruiting or training.

minimum academic standards

For general service officer (GSO) cadets, a minimum mean score of B (Plain) in the KCSE is required, along with C+s in English, maths, and one scientific subject.
This group will undergo training for three years, with a BSc in Military Science and Security Studies as the ultimate result.
General Service Officer (GSO) Cadets with an undergraduate degree must both meet the requirements outlined above for GSO Cadets and hold an undergraduate degree in any relevant discipline from a recognized university or institution.
There will be an eleven-month training period for this category.

All applicants for specialist officer positions must meet the GSO Cadet requirements, with the exception of chaplains and imams, who must have at least a C+ on the KCSE.

must hold an undergraduate degree from an approved university or institution and be registered in the appropriate discipline with a regulatory or legislative entity.
Six months of training will be required of specialist cops.

Servicemen/women Standard Duty Recruits: A D (Plain) or above on the KCSE is required.

Tradesmen/women:

A number of prerequisites must be satisfied by potential candidates, including having the required academic credentials and certifications.

Constables:

Candidates who were honorably discharged from the Kenya Defense Forces or the National Youth Service and currently have retired status are both eligible.

How To Apply For KDF Recruitment 2023

Interested candidates should send thorough CVs that include their height, weight, and any necessary academic or professional membership certificates to the Assistant Chief of the Defence Forces (Personnel and Logistics), Ministry of Defence, Defence Headquarters, Ulinzi House, P.O. Box 40668 – 00100, Nairobi.

By August 2, 2023, at the latest, applications for specialist officers and tradespeople/women must arrive at the addressee.

Between September 17 and September 24, 2023, candidates whose names have been shortlisted will be notified in print media.

The Kenya Army, Kenya Navy, and Kenya Air Force recruiting teams will visit recruitment centers in every sub-county to conduct the recruitment for GSO Cadets, General Service Officer Cadets with an undergraduate degree, General Duty Recruits, and Defence Forces Constables.

The KDF strongly condemned corruption and bribery, stating that such actions are prohibited. Anyone found submitting falsified or fake papers, acting unethically, or engaging in other illegal activity will be imprisoned and prosecuted.

The military highlighted that no one could manipulate the recruitment process and cautioned all prospective applicants to stay away from con artists.

Several locals have previously lost money, goods, and their freedom as a result of recruitment frauds.
