KNEC Updated Examiner Payment Rates by Subject for the KCSE
Payment Rates for KCSE Examiners by Subject have been updated by KNEC. The Kenya Certificate of Primary Education (KCPE) and Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE) exams are given by teachers who work for the Kenya National Examinations Council (KNEC).
For the national exams, contractors will be needed for center managers (principals and head teachers), supervisors, invigilators, examiners, and security personnel.
Due to the distinctive features of each course and exam, the cost of marking students’ scripts differs from subject to subject. Occasionally, different papers within a subject are paid differently depending on the script.
Our media organization satisfies the requirements that state a Christian Religious Education (CRE) examiner receives a daily co-ordination fee of Kes. 150.00, a base price of Kes. 1,100.00, a script fee of Kes. 55 per script, as well as transportation costs based on the work station.
The cost of marking, which includes but is not limited to marking scripts, putting grades on mark sheets, cross-checking, adjudication, and report writing, is included in the script price.
Taxes are applied to payments made to KCSE examiners employed by KNEC pursuant to a contract in accordance with the PAYE regulations and standards.
If total payments made to the examiners exceed KES 24,000, an extra 5% withholding tax will be applied. Therefore, only those who earn this sum will be subject to taxation.
