KUCCPS Addresses Dates And Intake For University Applications

Regarding the deadlines for applications for the 2023 intake, the Kenya Universities and Colleges Central Placement Service (KUCCPS) has clarified the situation.

The placement organization accomplished this by stating, contrary to prior rumors, that the application process for 2023 had not yet begun in a notice that was shared on Sunday, February 26, 2023.

Also, KUCCPS urged applicants and other interested parties to often visit the KUCCPS website for any updates.

The intake process for 2023 is about to begin, according to Ezekiel Machogu, the Education Cabinet Secretary, who made the announcement earlier in the week. CS Machogu did not provide any dates, though.

On Thursday, February 23, CS Machogu said there were plans to create criteria that would be utilized in the distribution of monies for capitation and other finances. He was speaking at a conference on university funding at the time.

Agnes Wahome, chief executive officer of KUCCPS, said the placement board was striving to make sure that the placement process would go well.

She also mentioned that KUCCPS would launch the application portal, but that this would entail going through a complicated process, particularly given that the education sector was about to undergo significant adjustments.

The Kenya Certificate of Primary Education (KCPE) results must be sent by the Kenya National Examinations Council (KNEC) to the placement body for review, according to the CEO of KUCCPS.

A list of programs provided by universities and other higher education institutions was sent to the placement body. Then, as a precaution, KUCCPS carries out a procedure designed to confirm the courses’ accreditation.

Due to new ideas for government-funded university education, there was uncertainty around the application deadlines. The Kenya Kwanaa government had taken the lead in promoting the new measures.

As a result, KUCCPS was had to provide clarifications on numerous times in response to unreliable information from various sources.

As of right now, KUCCPS has admitted that the application process has not yet begun and that stakeholders and applicants should constantly visit the KUCCPS website for changes.

As a result of the additional proposals made as part of the changes, the decision regarding government-funded education has not yet been made. When KUCCPS has finished operating, they will provide the dates.
