2024 JSS Selection Criteria
For a selection process to be effective, it is essential for parents and guardians to actively participate with school administration, with school administrators playing a critical role in assisting students during the selection process.
Middle school alternatives must be uploaded by principals, and a list of these options can be found on the Kenya National Examinations Council (KNEC) portal.
The placement of pupils is expected from all accredited public and private JSSs, however parents who choose private secondary schools should be informed that they are responsible for paying tuition.
2024 JSS Selection Criteria
The Ministry of Education has created precise standards for the selection and grading of pupils from middle school to sixth grade.
The Certificate of Merit (performance on the Kenya Primary Education Assessment, or KPSEA), fairness, learner and parent choices for schools, and the capability of the selected institution are some of the criteria used in this procedure.
According to the “100% transfer” policy, every student will be assigned to a middle school.
