Public University Fee Increase Concerns Adressed By CS Machogu

The government has reportedly taken action to completely implement the recommendations of the Presidential Taskforce on Competency-Based Curriculum, according to Belio Kipsang, the principal secretary of education.
Felix Koskei, who is in charge of the public service and serves as the chief of staff, supported the new system for paying universities. Koskei thought the new strategy was reasonable. According to Koskei, the design of the new model will guarantee that all students have fair access to higher education.
He said that going forward, the cost of attending a university will now be determined by the parent’s or guardian’s financial capacity.
“University fees are now affordable, as parents’ ability to pay will be evaluated on an individual basis,” he said on Friday at Tindiret, Nandi County’s St. Mary’s Tachasis Girls Secondary School. Nandi County is home to St. Mary’s Tachasis Girls Secondary School. Mr. Koskei recommended Kenyans to utilize the recently established Open University of Kenya, which offers reasonably priced online access to higher education.
Mr. Koskei had previously participated in prayers for pupils from four nearby secondary schools. He had urged the students to work hard in class because “education is the greatest equalizer” during those prayers.
