TSC ANNOUNCES A NEW PLAN TO EMPLOY 36,000 TEACHERS TO END SHORTAGE
Employment of TSC instructors in 2023. For the next five years, TSC Commission aims to conduct annual hiring drives to fill the gap in basic education.
It has encouraged the national Treasury to allocate more money to help with the hiring of more instructors and the preparation of CBC teachers.
A trustworthy source reports that there are 116,000 teachers needed in TSC.
The movement of all students from primary to secondary schools has caused this shortfall.

The efficient delivery of the curriculum has been negatively hindered by this shortfall.
A total of 48,327 teachers are needed for primary schools, and 67,673 are needed for high schools, colleges, and TVET programs.
Due to the unrest and inadequate infrastructure in these places, it has been difficult to deploy teachers to dry, semi-arid, and difficult-to-staff locations.
The majority of teachers have received training on the CBC curriculum, according to TSC’s additional addition.
With the retooling of 93,679 instructors who work with JSS students in grades 1 through 6, there are now 229,292 trained teachers in total.
The number the commission has in its data bank is 346,760 teachers.
The commission intends to train 90,000 additional JSS instructors.
