TSC Effects Recent TSC Payroll Changes

The teachers service commission has provided a clarification based on the most recent modifications made to the teachers’ Payroll.

TSC CEO Dr. Nancy Macharia released a statement on April 4, 2023, regarding the introduction of the revolutionary Unified Payroll Number (UPN) for all instructors covered by the teachers’ payroll.

This occurred when the Head of the Public Service gave the go-ahead for the aforementioned to be put into effect by a public order.

The National Government adopted the Unified Human Resource System (UHR) as a crucial step in the modernization of its human resources system.

According to the Head of the Public Service, the decision to apply it to all Public Service organizations marks the beginning of a new era of integrated and simplified HR processes.

The ground-breaking system indicated above will act as a central repository for all public sector human resources data and contain crucial information including payroll data.

The aforementioned project seeks to boost output and improve procedures.

The CARPS Report’s (2015) recommendations, which called for the development of a “Unified Human Resource and Payroll generating System UHR and IJPN for the public service,” also provided motivation for this project.

The Allocation System for Unified Payroll Numbers (UPN) mandates that each public employee receive a special, permanent identifying number.

Starting in March 2023, the teachers’ employer, TSC, will choose to give each of its payroll employees, including the highly regarded teachers, a unique UPN number.

Under the Teachers T-Pay System, every employee’s pay slip or teacher’s payroll features a unique set of identifiers.These include the TSC number (employee number) and UPN number (payroll number).
