JSS Intern Teacher. The Teachers Service Commission has let lawmakers know that it wants to hire more teachers. The commission declared that it would hire 20,000 intern instructors in July 2023.
To deal with the current teacher shortage, the newly hired teachers will be placed in junior high and secondary schools.
The commission provided the following comment when asked to explain how it gets ready for CBC. Students must begin their studies because time is running out.
Julius Taitum, a lawmaker from Igembe North, urged TSC to promptly replace the promoted instructors. Some elementary school teachers who received promotions to junior secondary schools have still not been replaced.
The possibility of a teacher shortage has been an issue in the education industry since the dawn of humanity. The panel has struggled to come up with answers to the teacher shortage. Moreover, certain fields have had fewer teachers than others. Such circumstances have been brought on by a lack of human resources in various academic fields.
However, the government has tried everything to find a solution. The government has brought up the idea of recruiting intern instructors, who have assisted in finding a solution. A number of educators have also furthered their education, qualifying them to work with junior high and high school pupils.
However, even though the aforementioned challenges are faced on a daily basis, the issue of a teacher shortage has always remained.
The Teachers Service Commission has been under fire from both political extremes for neglecting to address the issue. A major issue has always been finding skilled teachers.
Response of the commission to the teacher shortage
However, the commission hasn’t been forgotten. In response, it has categorically said that with the limited resources at its disposal, it has hired teachers around the country. Additionally, it has informed the populace that it is working closely with the administration to find a long-term fix.
The commission has notified the parliamentarians that 20,000 intern teachers will be hired in July in order to ease the teacher shortage. To address the shortage, the teachers would be transferred to junior secondary schools.
