TVET Colleges are ecstatic as much-anticipated funds arrive.

Currently, colleges that provide technical and vocational education and training (TVET) are eligible for capitation funding from the government. The fact that these funds were received has been confirmed by a number of Chief Principals and Principals from schools in the North Rift and Lake Region.

However, there are concerns because the government only allocated Ksh3,500 per student. This is less than half of the Ksh7,500 that these institutions are generally expected to obtain, so there is a reason for concern.

It will be difficult for TVET colleges to accept and assist the growing number of new students who have been enrolling because there is a paucity of finance. TVET colleges. The affected colleges are being asked to exercise patience because the distribution of these money often occurs in stages.

Many TVETs have struggled financially over the past year, which has caused payment delays to staff, an increased reliance on suppliers, and the discontinuation of extracurricular activities. In Kisumu, after a meeting with the heads of TVET, TVET PS Esther Muoria offered some encouragement by stating that the remaining cash would soon be disbursed.
