Updated Events Calendar for All Schools for Term 3 in 2023
The School Calendar for Term 3 of 2023, which includes primary and secondary schools in Kenya, was recently announced by the Ministry of Education.
The start of Term 1 for elementary students in 2023 is set for January 23. It will last for 13 weeks and end on April 21 in all schools.
The third term of 2023 is predicted to be the shortest of the year, with students attending class for only around two months to study for the national exams. As a result, this term is scheduled to start on August 28 and last for a maximum of 10 weeks, ending on November 3.
The KCPE and KCSE national exams are scheduled to start in November 2023. The KCPE exams will be held from November 6 through November 9, 2023, and the KCSE exams are scheduled to take place from November 11 through December 1, 2023.

The national examinations will be marked starting on December 4 and running through December 22 of 2023, following the exams.
According to the Ministry’s release, the change in term dates aims to restore order to the school calendar, which was disrupted by the COVID-19 pandemic in Kenya.
Revisions to the term dates were made as a consequence of stakeholder engagements in education, covering the final two terms of the preceding 2020 school year and stabilizing the academic year by December 2022.
Please take note that these term dates are applicable to all elementary and secondary institutions, both public and private, across the nation.
