TSC sends a warning to principals and sets a deadline
The online Teacher Performance and Development (TPAD) site will soon be shut down by the Teachers Service Commission (TSC).
The online system has had significant issues this week, making it difficult for teachers to effectively use it.
However, when our team checked it this morning, they discovered that it had stabilized, was now accepting data, and was functioning properly.
Before the system closes on the deadline, teachers must submit their second-term appraisal ratings.
The Commission also produced instructions at the same time for schools where the Deputy Heads of Institutions (DHOI) had trouble observing lessons and rating teachers.
The TSC has given the school leaders instructions on how to give their deputies the authority they need to evaluate teachers in an efficient manner.
NOTE: THE TPAD IS MISSING DHOI RIGHTS
If a school’s deputy head teacher, by chance, has lost the ability to evaluate the other teachers, the HOI should:
(i) Access the TMIS system.
(ii). Visit the teachers’ profile page (page 4 of 7).
(iii) Change the instructor to deputy data in the present deputy data.
(iv) State the date of current duty (the day the teacher was appointed to the deputy post).
(v). To save the changes, click the Save button.
The Commission claims that teachers in elementary and secondary schools would be able to engage in evaluating their own performance and start their professional development through the use of TPAD, an open appraisal system.
The appraisal and development system is intended to give teachers greater control so they can restore the teaching profession to its former glory and win back the trust and support of the general public.
TSC advertises its teachers via TPAD. Teachers must download and present documentation of their TPAD compliance during promotion interviews in order to be taken into consideration.
Teachers who do not take the evaluation and lesson observations run the danger of being disciplined by the Commission.
