The Following Public Servants’ Updated Salary Structure is Published by SRC. In testimony before a Senate committee, the Salaries and Remuneration Commission (SRC) asserted that a new pay structure for all public employees is expected to be unveiled in June 2023.
SRC chairperson Lyn Mengich allegedly stated that her team is now assessing public employee salaries as part of the third salary review cycle of this year during an appearance before the Senate Education Committee.
The remuneration of instructors of Early Childhood Development Education (ECDE), who are employed by county governments around the country, will also be taken into consideration, according to Mrs. Mengich.
According to its duty to develop, assess, and offer recommendations on compensation and benefits in the public sector, SRC “will continue to engage with stakeholders and provide appropriate responses.”
Based on the provisions of Section (11) of the SRC Act of 2011, this commission established a four-year review cycle of salaries and benefits for public employees in all sectors.
The first cycle of compensation, according to SRC, encompassed the academic years 2013–2014 through 2016–2017.
Additionally, the second cycle covered the years 2017–2018 and 2021–2022.
The Following Public Servants’ Updated Salary Structure is Published by SRC
The SRC admitted that most jobs had not changed significantly, but it promised to assess both newly created positions and those that institutions had judged had undergone considerable change.
According to SRC, job evaluation findings will provide the foundation for creating job grading systems for all public employees.
The full implementation of the SRC, as promised by Mengich during the 9th Summit, which took place in Naivasha from February 10–12, 2023, is currently being awaited by Kenyans.
In order to ensure that everyone received equal pay and benefits, it was resolved at this meeting that county governments would develop an ECDE framework and collaborate with the SRC.
