TSC Commences Retraining of Newly Hired Teachers

According to the Instructors Service Commission, the 30,000 teachers who have been employed to help with the transfer to junior secondary schools will receive new training.

All instructors employed as part of the ongoing hiring process will receive new training, according to the commission’s chief executive, Nancy Macharia.

The instructors in their subcounties will be retrained using a cascade technique. The retooling procedure will start this month when all seventh graders have adjusted to their new classrooms and the commission has finished deploying the recently appointed teachers.

She said that the government intends to train 30,550 additional teachers in addition to the 60,000 instructors that were taught last year.

“All the teachers who will be hired in this operation will be put on a retooling program to guarantee they adequately cater to our junior secondary school learners,” The 2,376 master trainers have been prepared, according to Macharia.

The training will go until April of this year and started earlier this month.

“Ahead of the retooling process for all incoming teachers and others now teaching in secondary schools, we have already trained 2,376 master trainers. By April 2023, we hope to have trained 90,000 instructors. said Macharia.

She also assured teachers of the commission’s commitment to enhancing their access to health care, a key service for them to perform.
