Members of Parliament (MPs) were informed by TSC Chief Executive Officer (CE) Dr. Nancy Macharia on Tuesday that intern teachers would be hired on a permanent basis with a pension after one year of service.

10,000 of the teachers will be employed on permanent, pensionable conditions, according to a statement from TSC released in December, while 25,550 will be hired on an internship basis.
9,000 of the openings, according to reports, are for permanent secondary school instructors, 1,000 are for primary school teachers, and 21,550 are for intern teachers for junior secondary schools.
According to the Commission, 4,000 more intern instructors will soon be hired for primary schools.
